Continuously Variable Transmission

The CVT rotates about a shaft (left) and is driven through its angular range of motion via a lead screw actuation system (right). Tension in the V-belts move the floating pulley to change speed when the CVT frame is actuated. The entire pulley stack translates within the CVT frame to maintain proper alignment with the motor and spindle as the effective diameters of the transmission change.
