Orange Juicer

Two orange juicers were created in fall 2012 for an industrial design project. Both use a novel metallic mechanism to pierce and squish packets of juice from an orange. Sloping metal and wood forms direct the juice into drinkware or cookware. The new mechanism requires much less force than traditional plastic juicers and the juicer is not required to sit directly on top of glass or bowl. The wood model was designed to be warm, inviting, and comfortable while the metal model is more of an aesthetic exploration of the simple triangular mechanism.
